Remodeling Your Kitchen : Several Tips To Redesign Any Kitchen

By The Remodeling Guy

Renovating kitchens, particularly small kitchens can sometimes be a difficult task. Most kitchens are of moderate size, but even these are difficult to manage in terms of space. However, there is a way out, if only we use our imagination to use the ceiling space.

A high ceiling kitchen has lots of space that is just waiting to be innovatively utilized by you. All that is required is a bit of imagination and some creativity. In such kitchens you can have taller cabinets and shelves above doors and widows. You can also have hanging racks containing pots and pans. Can you imagine the amount of cabinet space freed up by such innovative arrangements?

The other way to create more space in the kitchen is to go for small gadgets. Today manufacturers throughout the country are coming out with smaller versions of all appliances and gadgets being used in the kitchen. These smaller versions of gadgets like a can opener or a coffee maker can be safely hung from the underside of wall cabinets. Even small size micro ovens are built that can be stored by simply hanging them from a suitable place. The use of small appliances can reduce the clutter in a kitchen and free up a lot of space. Further more, new folding cabinets have come into the market that can help in fully utilizing unused spaces like niches and corners.

All efforts at renovation must aim at making cooking less tedious. This can be done by giving the kitchen a cheerful atmosphere, using attractive colors and plenty of light. Contrasting colors look good in a big kitchen.

Other wise go for light shades accented by plenty of white. Light colors make a small kitchen appear bigger. Do not use white indiscriminately. Let the ceiling and wall be white and the cabinets and counter top a contrasting light shade. Wherever possible have lights that are hidden, for instance, under the cabinets. That will give the kitchen a desirable depth. - 32406
