So What, Exactly, Is A Coffee Pod Machine?

By Calleigh McCoy

A coffee pod machine is a machine that brews coffee from coffee pods. In case you didn't know, coffee pods are basically small filters wrapping just the right amount of coffee for one cup. We'll go over a few reasons as to why one might choose to replace their old, traditional coffee maker with a coffee pod machine.

Why Should I Use A Coffee Pod Machine At Home?

Many people, especially high performance business types, live alone. They have no need for a coffee maker that makes four cups worth of coffee every time they fill it up and turn it on. This ends up being very wasteful, and sometimes expensive. For those who work from the home, this is especially true as they may end up brewing multiple batches of coffee every day as the day goes on because, although they brewed four cups worth earlier, that's now stale. Coffee is always better when it's fresh, after all. People with families can also benefit from using a coffee pod machine instead of a traditional coffee maker if they have multiple people in the house that like to drink coffee, but at different times of the day. Coffee brewed in the morning will not be any good for the spouse that works the night shift.

So Would A Coffee Pod Machine Make Sense In The Office?

Most everyone assumes that single cup coffee makers wouldn't really be useful in an office. When you make coffee in the office, people smell it and want it, so why not make a big pot, right? This leads many to believe the only way to to make coffee efficiently for the office is to use a regular old coffee maker. This, however, is not always true. How about if everyone in the office does not drink coffee, or maybe even if some need decaf? A ton of coffee gets poured down the sink when someone wants or needs a fresh pot. Much, of course, will depend on the size of the office, but single cups using coffee pods could actually end up being a lot more efficient.

A Coffee Pod Machine Lets Each Individual Person Choose Their Own Flavor

Almost everyone has a specific preference when it comes to coffee. It doesn't matter if there is a pot of perfectly good brew sitting a few cubes over; you'll still have people running up three flights of stairs to get to the machine that has the coffee that they want to drink, be it french vanilla or amaretto, or whatever. A coffee pod machine that can handle all of that just might save the company and the individual some time.

Coffee Pod Machines Are Not Nearly As Expensive As You Might Think

Because they produce single cups of coffee, these machines are often assumed to be very expensive. However, that's just not true. A cheap coffee pod machine is generally only slightly more expensive than a traditional coffee maker and, in situations where the waste is extreme, it just might pay for itself. If nothing else, most people will feel that it's worth the extra cost just to have a fresh cup of coffee at any time. - 32406
